Whoa what? Time is just FLYING by!
Ok, here's what made this week the most interesting. Last Monday on our way to an appointment we got a call from the Zone Leaders. They said "Ok, we have something to tell you that will be taking place IMMEDIATELY. Ready? As of right now music is not allowed in the mission. Ok? Have a great night!" OHHH-KAy. So that's fun. But it's ok, because we've been walking a lot more, and not been in the car. Buuuuut, I do miss my sweet EFY jams a little bit "/ So, I'll be send a little box home of my iPod and CD's. If you need some good music to listen to, go right ahead!
We also had a Zone Conference this week. Don't be too jelly, but we're suppose to be getting devices (iPads) within the next 2 weeks :D :D :D This is going to make the work so much easier! It's so sad when we want to show people a movie or a mormon message and they don't have a tv, or a dvd player, or a computer. It's made me feel a lot more grateful to have the things that I do. But I'm still excited to be able to show them these videos and photos that I want them to see! Of course, it means we have more temptation in our hands. But President Cusick has been gearing us up for that. There's a real push for EXACT obedience around here. But when everyone's doing it, it's not hard. We've been talking a lot about WHY we're obedient. It shouldn't be because that's what Pres. Cusick wants, or what your companion wants, or because your family expects you to be the most obedient missionary ever. It should be because you realize that obedience is an eternal principle. You expect to see miracles, so you live in a way to have them. You love your Heavenly Father and you know that the only true way to show that is to keep His commandments. Man, obedience is the best :)
So we've been walking, right? It's been pretty awesome! We've found some cool people. One guy invited us to come back to his house before we could even ask where he lived. We decided to walk all day on Friday, until the sun went down. But because we're missionaries and don't use technology like normal people, we didn't know that it was going to be raining. ALL DAY. We had rain coats, but there's only so much a rain coat can do. My scriptures got kinda wet (I think that's probably a right-of-passage for the mission. Everyone I know had water damaged scriptures. I made it 6 months! That might be a record of some sort), my shoes were not much helped, and people just looked at us like we were the craziest people alive. But it was so fun! We didn't get to talk to many people, and our recent convert got a little made when he realized we'd walked a few miles in the rain to get to our appointment with him. But we were being obedient! It wasn't too cold, until it stopped raining as hard, and eventually we just stomped through the puddles. Here's the miracle: we didn't get sick :) Basically it was just fun, and a good work out.
Well, the rest of the days were pretty normal. Work, plan, sleep, study, work, plan, sleep, study. The life of a missionary. It's pretty great :)
Les quiero!
