Week 27 in Florida (Full Spanish Week 11)

I think this week went by way faster than I've seen in the mission so far. I think the iPads are making that happen. Btw, I'm not speaking it today because there's a man sun bathing on the other side of the pool (the wifi hotspot) and I don't want to freak him out with my mission lingo whatnot. But that's ok, I need to work on my texting thumbs. Because I only have 10 months left!!!! I know that sounds like a long time, but the last 7.5 months just flew by! So the next 10 are gonna be nothing! Speaking of sounding trunckyhehe, we had apartment inspections last Monday by one of the counselor  in the mission presidency. Right now, Hna. Miller and I have separate closets, but only one dresser. She has it in her closet, and I've just been using my suitcases to store clothes I don't hang up. Which isn't very much. But Pres. and Sis. May were kinda shocked. They said that's not allowed. Haha. So they told me to take one of the drawer/shelf things we have in the front room. I haven't moved it yet. I'll do that today! Ok, so this week was pretty good! We worked REALLY hard to get some members to lessons, and we got a marriage to come with us! Oh wait, it's not called a marriage. A couple? A married couple? You know what I'm talking about. Anyway, they came to a lesson with Maria, who's son is a member, just got sealed in the temple, and wants his mom to understand what that all means. The marriage told about their conversion stories. I love that! I think the hardest part for people we teach is understanding how they're suppose to feel or what exactly they're suppose to do to be converted. We can tell them about our conversion, but they don't usually take it seriously because we were born in the church. So I love when members come tell them. I think it was perfect for Maria. Remember how we have to park the car one day a week? We'll this week we had quite the adventure with it. We chose Thursday, because every other night we had lessons that we far apart. But on Thursdays we teach English at the church, which is 10 miles away. So we had the great idea to ride the bus. First we walked to an appointment at the mcdonalds. The man we teach there rides the bus pretty often, so we asked about it. He even gave us his day pass, because he said he was done with it, and then gave us a couple dollars so we hard exact change for another ticket. Not really sure if that's allowed, but he would have been pretty offended if we didn't take it. After that we started walking more, waiting for a bus to come. But it wasn't coming, and no one was at any of the stops. We finally found one that had some people, they said it was running late. They also weren't too interested in the church... So we waited with them, got on the bus, talked to a few other people, and got off at the stop we thought we needed to. We asked someone else about when the next bus came, and they said we just missed it, and the next one wouldn't come for 30 more minutes. So we started walking again. There was a member that needed to get in the church, so they were gonna come pick us up, but they didn't know the area well enough, and couldn't find us. Then another member called us and  said they'd just get a key from the elders. BUT! We share a key with the elders. So she told us to stay where we were and they'd find us. We were just laughing! Well, I think Hna. Miller was a little flustered, but she laughed anyway. We waited a little, and then one of the students came in her car, and the member behind her. It was ridiculous! We felt AWFUL! We had to cancel class. The member too us to the church so her son could grab something he needed for school. While we were waiting for him to get it, she was counting cash. She told us she only had $14 dollars to buy us dinner before she drove us home. WHAT?! She should have been frustrated with us! But she was upset that she didn't have enough money to buy us a fancy dinner! And she was going to drive us home! We went to Publix (the best grocery place ever!) where they make subs. She also took us around to asked us if we needed anything else. We kept saying no, but we finally gave in and allowed her to buy us some fruit. It was amazing!! We had 4 or 5 people that were FOR SURE coming to church this week. In the week one of them told us he'd have to work, but his wife was still gonna come with a couple kids. Then Joel was finally going to able to come, but I had to call him right before church to tell him his ride was sick, and there wasn't anyone else to get him :'( And then the wife of the guy who had to work texted to say she had a migraine, and she wasn't coming. We waited at the door, and then we had to to sit. There was a part member couple, but he won't really let us teach him. Yet. I guess that's good enough ;) and then right after the sacrament, Maria walked in! She was late, but she still came! She told us at the lesson that she doesn't really feel comfortable in church, so we didn't know if she'd come, but she did! It was awesome :) Next week will be better!!! At least, I really hope so. I think it'll be my last Sunday in Tampa. I've been here for more than 6 months!  Well, that's about it for now. Obedience brings blessings. Exact obedience brings miracles. Never forget that! Les quiero todos, TANTO! Estaré en casa antes que lo saben :)  Hermana Despain
