This week was fairly...chill. It was so weird teaching Anthony as a recent convert and not an investigator!
Hna. Miller and I decided we wanted to start fresh with the ward. So we went through the ward directory and found all the members in our area, and started visiting them. Mostly, the records aren't up to date, so we've just been meeting random people. But a couple of them have let us come back and teach a little more! So that's good :) One of them turned out to be a less active family that I've met once, because they don't actually like us or the church. But it's been months since we contacted them, and they let us in! I was so surprised!!! I totally forgot they lived there, and there was a different name in the records. But all the kids and the dad were there and told us what they've been up to. We left a prayer with them called the Savior's Peace and Blessing. It's like the story found in Luke 10, where missionaries are sent 2 by 2 to visit homes and leave the Savior's Peace and Blessing. It's something we get to do as missionaries, and it's awesome! It's how we start teaching people, so help them know what the Holy Ghost is, and they understand better why we're there. We see miracles with it all the time! We do it for less-actives and members too, and have good experiences like this one. I love it!
So we've been doing a lot of that this week! Pres. Cusick is really stepping it up, which means we are too! He told us to study Hel. 13-15 about Samuel and his boldness in teaching the people. I'm not sure if that means we're suppose to be climbing walls in skirts... But it's cool that we're hastening the work with everyone else, not that everyone else is coming up the missionary standard or something. We're stepping it up together! Basically, if the people we're teaching aren't progressing, we drop them, and go out and find the people who are ready to hear the Gospel. It sound kinda scary, but it's what we need to do! Everyone needs the chance to hear the message we have, and we're the ones that have it! We have to share it! So basically we're to talk to everyone, and give them that chance to accept it!
Oh! Here's a good story for the week: We were going to check on a recent convert, and he also lives with other people. Some lady answered the door, so we asked for the member. She just looked at our car and said we couldn't park there. We pointed to a different spot and asked if we could park there, and she said no. We asked about a couple other spots, and she just said no a few more times. Then she shoo-ed us and shut the door. Uh... Ok! We'll try again another time ;) I think sometimes the rejections are the funniest time of the day!
Well, that's about it! Keep up the good work! Remember, we're hastening His work, not just maintaining it. We all gotta step up, and do exactly what He needs us to do. Definitely use PRAYER!!! It's the only way we can ask Him was He needs us to do, SPECIFICALLY! Ask specific questions and you'll get specific answers. I promise :)
Les quiero mucho!
