this week was short, so I don't really know what to tell you about...
We got a referral from a member, for her mom! She's gonna be 90 in
September, and needs to get baptized! She says she wants to, and she's
been to church a few times. But she also is old and doesn't hear very
well, and will rely on her daughter for everything. So it might be a
little more challenging than we thought. We're gonna start teaching
her next week for real. She's so sweet, I'm excited!
Alberto was suppose to get baptized this week, but he needs more time
to quit smoking. That's ok! I'm just glad he still wants to :) We're
gonna try this one- week quit smoking program where he'll use cinnamon
toothpaste and mouthwash and drive grapefruit juice, and use a lot of
faith. It's worked before, so we'll see how it goes!
We had a really promising new investigator that we were really excited
to work with. But we think he might have had wrong intentions, because
he called us and gave a huge speak about thanks for nothing, and hope
we have fun on our missions, and now he's avoiding us... I don't think
people always get what we do as missionaries, and then it just gets
awkward...
Shantrell is preparing for baptism! But then her grandma told her our
church is the devil church, and she yells at us every time we come
over. That definitely cause Shantrell to doubt, but she still loves
us! So we'll see...
Mario! He needs paper work from Honduras so that they can get married
so that he can get baptized!
Evelin and Peterson are a brother and sister from Haiti. We tried
passing them off, but Evelin says she just wants to learn from us,
which is totes fine :) I love her! They were gonna come to church, and
the Haitian elders had a member to go pick them up, but the member
said they weren't home. I think they just went to the wrong house.
We'll find out when we see them next! The hard thing with them is that
they don't have a phone.... So we have to just stop by, and they don't
live close. So we definitely have to follow the spirit on that one!
Well, that's pretty much the people we're focused on right now!
The church is true! I just love being a missionary!!! If the rumors
are true, I only have 6 months to live! So I'm gonna live it up the
best I can! I love you all and hope you have an exceptional week :)
Los quiero!
