Tuesday we taught 8 or 9 lessons. And then drove up to Ft. Myers,
which is her area. Wednesday we went to her district meeting, walked
to a lesson, went to Wendy's to be in a public place to talk loud
about the church and watch videos, and eat frosty's because it was
really hot outside! We got a few contacts out of it :) that was where
she realized she didn't have her wallet! We went home for dinner, and
couldn't find it anywhere! So I got to drive :) we saw a recent
convert, went to her correlation meeting, and then taught some little
girls from a less active family that want to get married. They told me
all about the Frozen characters, because they had all the dolls for
it. Seriously, I'm kinda dying to see that movie! Everyone's freaking
out about it!
Then Thursday we drove up to Tampa, longest drive ever! I've made that
trip more than I thought I would... And then we picked up my new
verdecita! Her name's Hna. Paulsen from Centerville Utah. She went to
a year at BYU before, and is the 5th kid in her family! And she came
into the mission exactly a year behind me! And her birthday is in
March! She's basically exactly a year behind me in life in everything.
It kinda freaks me out, but it's totally fine! She's so amazing, I'm
so lucky to have her. She basically doesn't need to be trained, but
the profet said so, so I guess I will!
We had a movie night on Friday, and had some good reliable people
coming. And then..... No one came. It was us, the elders, and some
members. So, basically we wasted time setting up, waiting for people
that didn't show up, and then going home.
And then the next day was a total flop as well! All our plans fell
through, and the people that were home asked us to come back another
day. We walked a lot, had dinner at Cracker Barrel to contact Tayris!
And then went to the ward talent show! It was so fun! Lots of singing
and dancing. The youth did a glow stick-man dance, it was awesome! One
of the hermanas sang "let it go" from Frozen! I was so excited!!! Hna.
Paulsen said I'm gonna love it when I get home :) it's so weird that
she's seen it! It makes me feel old.
Ok, so the dynamic of the zone is ridiculous. When I got down to
Naples in March, about 1/4 of the zone was sisters. There were 42 of
us, 10 sisters. Then 3 transfers later is was 36 with 6 sisters, so
1/6 of the zone. Now it's 4 sisters out of 34 missionaries. 1/8! We
are the only sisters in Naples, the other sisters live about 45
minutes away. We're outnumbered and it's freaking me out!
Also! I'm on my 12th companion. Besides her, all my companions are
either home, or going home with me. That kinda makes me feel like a 96
year old lady. Yuck!
Well folks, the church is true. Never say no to blessings. That's
basically what happens when you disobey and sin. Say yes to blessings!
Read the Book of Mormon, take the sacrament worthily, and have real
conversations with your Heavenly Father every day.
Los quiero!
