Week 54 in Florida (Naples 5.2)

We did work this week! An all time record of 31 lessons in a week! And
all with real progressing people! I love it :) we had a lot of testing
this week I think. We had a really strong prompting to a park because
we were going to find someone who needed us. It turned out the person
who needed us was actually already a member, and an active member at
that. She and her husband were just enjoying the afternoon, chilling
in lawn chairs when we came to talk to them and they knew who we were!
They're from one of the English wards here. Anyway, the wife told us
that we were angles sent to her, because her mom had just passed away
the day before. She of source understand the plan of salvation and
didn't really need to be taught anything. She just needed people who
understood, people who would know what to say. Who better than set
apart representatives of Jesus Christ!? It was amazing. But then later
we received a prompting to go to a less active family, but they loved
about 20 minutes out of town. We had the miles, and the time. So we
went. But then they weren't  home... So we went back to town, taught a
few lessons, went to a baby shower, and then contacted them to go back
to see them. I realized later that it could've simply been a test to
see if we'd actually follow the prompting. When we did we were blessed
with miracles!
Speaking of which, Wednesday our zone leaders told us they want us to
write down one miracle from everyday and we'll combined them into
something. So Wednesday, we went to see a new investigator, Maria
Soto, who didn't answer the phone or her door. So we walked around,
and came back, and then she answered the door! Thursday we had a
little extra time, and needed another lesson so we stopped by an old
potential, Maria Eva, and she was home and still wanted to learn! And
we set a date with her to be baptized! I seriously love having dates
set. If people are serious, they'll progress, and they should be
progressing toward baptism. So basically if the person doesn't have a
date within a few weeks, they're not progressing, and we shouldn't
really be spending too much time with them. It's a good way to make
sure we're working with Gods elect, those He's prepared for is!
Anyway! Friday we met a family who we asked if they want they're
family to be together forever. They invited us to teach them. It turns
out they're neighbors to a member who's tried inviting them before!
But hasn't had any luck yet, which makes sense now, because we've gone
back to that house twice, and they haven't been home... Saturday we
weren't having very much luck. But we were walking around talking to
everyone. We met a man that we've talked to before, but this time we
were more bold, and probably a little more desperate as well, and we
had a lesson and a return appointment. When we said amen to the prayer
to end our little lesson and looked up, a new man had showed up and
joined the prayer, and then we taught him too! 2 lessons in about 15
minutes! Sunday night, we needed one more member present, but all our
plans for that had fallen through. Our next plan was to see a recent
convert, Esperanza, so we went with it, and then ended up teaching her
new roommate with her! New investigator and goals met! His name is
Jamie and he, his wife and daughter are renting a room from Esperanza.
He's mostly interested in learning English. He's Jewish right now, but
use to be Christian. He sounds like he's looking for something more,
he just like the Jewish culture. So, we'll see!
The weather has been good, normal afternoon thunderstorms, humidity
and heat in the day, bugs by night. Oh! Our AC was out, but only for
the day. Our apartment maintenance is great! Now we just need to get
rid of the random cockroaches that like to chill in our kitchen. I am
so not going to miss those!
Do you guys ever just sit back and think about how cool it is that I'm
a missionary? I sure do! How about thinking about how amazing it is
that you have a relationship with God? Do you really understand that
He's your Heavenly Father? Never forget that! No matter what, make
sure He's always included in your life, in decisions, in happiness, in
sorrow, in school, or work or play. Trust Him with everything, and
He'll trust you too!
Los quiero! Nos vemos, muy pronto!

I didn't really take any pictures this week, but here's one! A member
made us soup and added in this note, so cute :)
