Week 56 in Florida (Naples 5.4)

I just love being a missionary! Seriously, it's the only important
thing in life. Which means if you're not involved in some way, what
are you doing with your life?
Anyway, we had an awesome week! It started with zone p-day. Basically,
we get all together, and play sports, all day! I love it. O! That
reminds me, I didn't update about the sister situation. 2 weeks ago,
we got two more sisters here in Naples! They're in the English ward,
and came right in time! Because! Later that week the other sisters
left, one went home to get a surgery and will be back, and the other
one got transferred to another zone. So! If the English sisters hadn't
come, we would have been the only sisters in the zone (aka, stake) and
our own STLs, which I don't even know is allowed! So! We still have 4
out of 34 missionaries as sisters, just a bit of a switch. It would
have made zone p-day just a little awkward... But thankfully that's
not how it went down!
Tuesday we saw Carmen Cabrera and Ernie De Acosta, last lessons before
they got baptized on Thursday! They were so ready!
And then Thursday came and we had the coolest double baptism! They're
both part member families, and now they're one big happy family in the
gospel! Also, Ivis got to come, he has a date for the 25. He had a
couple questions, but thought it was awesome, and got to meet a few
more members.
Saturday was full of parties! There's a family where one daughter is
inactive, and another wants to get baptized. The mom calls herself
Mormon, but won't get baptized. Anyway, their little girl turned two,
so we went too their Mexican cook out at the park! It was really fun,
but a bit of a disaster... It rained the whole time, the moms phone
fell and the screen broke, and she couldn't do anything with it. The
girl who wants to get baptized slipped on the playground and got a bad
cut under her nose, and it ran late, so we had to leave before cake!
But it was so fun, and great to get in with the family better!
Then we went to the church for international night! It was so fun!
Ivis came again, it was fun to just chill with him and the members a
little. Sometimes they get weirded out when we're just being so formal
always teaching. We had a bit of a revelation with that. We've been
struggling with having shorter lessons, while still getting to know
who the investigators are. We had wanted to try and teach a lesson
during the down times at the parties, but there was no down time... So
we didn't teach people. We realized we were such fools to think that!
Parties are to get to know people, lessons are to teach people. We
were mixing it up! Haha, it's never too late to learn new things!
Because we didn't get to teach as much as we wanted, we were a little
worried about reaching goals. Yesterday we went to Alberto's to teach
about doing family history, and then we asked if we could go teach his
cousin, George. George is usually drunk, but he was just a little
buzzed when we stopped by, so we got to teach him. And then he
introduced us to a couple of this friends, and we taught them too! We
still didn't reach all our goals, but we got a lot closer than we
thought we would.
I think what's made a huge difference for me is really trusting in
God, knowing that this is His work. I'm just here to teach the people
He's already been working with. We're just the workers in His
vineyard, doing whatever He wants us to do! I wanna always remember
that, even after I go home in a few months. Remembering why we are
here, and understanding where we came from can give us the motivation
and courage we all need to help bring our brothers and sisters back
home, where we can all be back together again :)  God's plan is so
perfect! We should try our best to not mess it up.
Los quiero a todos!
Who are you going to watch conference with? Preferably someone who
isn't already baptized and active in church... ;)
