Week 48 in Florida (Naples 4.2)

These weeks just get fuzzier and fuzzier. But they're still clicking
by pretty quick!
We had a baptism last week, and I think it was probably the most
perfect! I think they get better and better every time. It was for
Gavin, an 11-year-old who acts like he's 30. He's awesome! His sister
got baptized a month ago, and his grandparents got baptized almost a
year ago. Now we just gotta work on his parents! Haha, we're actually
teaching his dad right now, he seems pretty into it! His mom said she
has too many vices she doesn't wanna give up. We'll see ;)
We have a baptism lined up for this week! Her name's Esperanza. She
has terminal brain cancer, and has been waiting to get baptized for
weeks! But she hasn't been able to get to church between not having a
ride and bad health. But we stopped by to see her, and she looked
almost completely healthy! And we have a member family who just moved
to her area who are ready and willing to give her a ride, and another
member who lives with her who can take her now, and she has friends
that will take her. It's all working out! She's so excited!
After Gavin's baptism when we went home and we're planning for the
next day, we realized something. We have someone lined up to be
baptized ever week this transfer!!! That would be nuts!! So far we
have Gavin, Esperanza, Alberto (the Cuban who needs to quit smoking),
Jorge (another Cuban that Hna. Lewis started teaching), Tayris (who's
had 5 baptism dates this year...), and Carmen (the 90 year old lady
who's catholic, but wants to know it's true!). There's also a few more
in there that should get baptized, so we'll see how it all plays out!
Its makes teaching people so much easier when we have a date we're
working toward! Just like with everything. When you can see the end,
the bumps in the road aren't as rough.
Oh! We also moved apartments, but don't worry if you mailed something
to the other address, the elders are there. Actually, it's the same
elders that took my apartment the last time. This is the third time
I've had elders take my apartment -_- but that's ok! We have a tennis
court right outside our building here, so that's what we do for
morning exercise :) anyway, the new address is 9400 Marino Circle #104
Naples, FL 34114. If you count the MTC and the mission office, this is
my 10th address where you guys can send me stuff. Sorry for all the
confusion! I promise it's not my fault.
Anyway, life is good! Have you gotten the new church magazines yet?
They're amazing! How cool is it that we can hear from God's prophet
and apostles every month!!! I love this church, it's so true!
Los quiero!
Hermana Despain
